Resident Evil is arguably one of the scariest video game franchises in existence. So when we were launching it in VR on Quest 2, we gave fans a taste of just how evil the game is - a big, scary OMFG-level taste.
We created the Fear Truck, an game arena mounted on a vintage pickup truck equip with pneumatic air cannons, slime and floor haptics that synced with gameplay, and rolled up to college campus for demos.
While most of our US marketing campaign was scuttled thanks to Covid, we did create a trailer that showed the evolution of Resident Evil, from mildly scary on Playstation 1 to completely terrifying on Quest 2.
And in Japan we created a film that dialed up the terror and insanity to 11. Strap in for this one…
